Tired Tired at TwoTwo
October 28, 2008
With less than a week before the soft opening of TwoTwo Fried Chicken Restaurant, I am beggining to feel the stress and pressure. High expectations are placed on TwoTwo. Would it conquer the Philippine market when in fact no Korean Restaurant has become everyone’s favorite? Looking at the menu and the plans in-store, I hope to challenge this truth. For now, I need to overcome the tiredness… I just hope I don’t burn out.
Friends for keeps.

Last night, I had dinner and coffee with Pao. It was surreal cause we haven’t done it for sometime when in fact, we used to eat dinners almost every day before. Well, things do change with time but we can always bring good things back.
I am sharing here pictures of friends I would always keep on bringing and sharing those good times (and even the bad times) with. Cheers!
What’s new worth the news? ii

Three decades had passed. A day of surprises.
October 9, 2008
I celebrated my thirty years of existence last Tuesday, October 7. Actually, there was not much elaborate celebrations held as I had my birthday extravagance at the 3 casinos in Clark (huhuhu) last weekend. Though, my money-losing escapade made me appreciate the best things in life. Receiving greetings thru SMS, YM, email and other community sites made me smile the whole day.
I received a text message from my parents which I really appreciate. It’s not everyday they text me but I tend to be sentimental when my parents send me SMS showing how much they care.
My aunt from the States also sent text-greeting. It was unexpected as I haven’t talk to her for sometime now. It was an opportunity for us update each other.
The biggest surprise came in the middle of the day. My friends sent me an email with contents that almost brought me to tears. Parts of the email thread, I pasted below:
“I’d like to take this opportunity to make a confession…..actually…… IDOL kita REGGIE….hindi si Sarah.ehehehe
With all honesty (and due respect), you are a person worthy of our emulation.
1. The way you treat & care for your friends (we love you so much Reggie)…. people can take away things from you…but not friends.
2. The principles, outlook, and values that you uphold in life.
3. Lastly, your LOVELIFE!!! Blooming.hehehehe….
…I really look up to you Reggie with respect (notwithstanding the HP stories that you share to us.hehe).
You are a person who makes “making people happy” look so easy.…and behind the effortless attempts to make all of us happy is a pure person w/ a pure heart.
You are one of the few selfless people I know Reggie. “
“Okay for that you deserve a SACHET. nyahahaha.
i truly miss you reggie
and yeah you are very self-less.
“
“reg, i will never forget the time na sinamahan moko sa banawe para
bumili ng side mirrors! nyahahahha!”
It was really heart-warming reading these messages from people you value. It makes me aspire to become a a better person all the more.
Another surprise when a (former) special someone greeted me. It was really ‘kilig’ moments for me as we exchanged bola and banters with each other.
An expected surprise capped the day. My friend since elementary days wanted to treat me to spa. I preferred coffee so we opted to have dinner instead. Anyway, not to my surprise, my high school friends were there also at the venue. My friend was late as usual so he was trying to call me while he was on his way. I kept on making excuses that I am too tired to come as he did not know that I am there already. He was surprised when he entered the restaurant.
But my so-called surprise birthday cake stole the show. When one of my friends secretly asked the service crew to serve the cake they have had kept, the waitress just placed the cake on our table still intact with its box and the three blue candles taped on one corner. Laugh trip, indeed!
To my family and relatives, my friends and those dear to me, my former colleagues and associates, my sincerest thanks for making that day special and the past three decades truly colorful and meaningful.
